Have you ever contemplated on the mistakes or regrets you’ve made in life and allowed your thoughts to create alternative scenarios of what if?
What if I wouldn’t have done this?
What if I chose that path instead of this one?
What if I said this instead of that?
And the list goes on and on and on….
Digging Up The Past
Unfortunately, focusing on our past can distract us from living the life we have right now.
As believers, we are not trusting in God’s providence. He knew beforehand and orchestrates our life, even at this very moment.
Oswald Chambers sums it up well:
Live For Today
We have the opportunity to accept our past and move forward in Jesus.
Here are a few things we can do when we start to dwell on our past.
2. Recount your many blessings with a grateful heart.
3. Choose to live confidently in who you are in Christ, today.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come. -2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV)
